Our Six Marks of Minster Mission

1. A Place for Worship & Discipleship At the heart of St Helens Minster is a commitment to the worship of God and the formation of Christian faith. The Minster exists first and foremost as a spiritual home, where people can encounter God through prayer, scripture, and sacramental life.

2. A Place of Hospitality. Hospitality is central to the Minster vision. The building is an open & welcoming space where people can feel comfortable to enter, pause, and belong. Whether through a café space, informal conversation, or prayer support, the Minster seeks to break down barriers between church and community.

3. A Place for All People St Helens Minster is committed to serving the whole community. The building is not reserved for one group but offered as a shared civic resource. It hosts concerts, exhibitions, celebrations, and moments of commemoration that reflect the full breadth of town life.

4. A Place of Hope and Safety. Located in the centre of town, the Minster naturally becomes a place where people turn for help, guidance, and care. Individuals in need can find support or be signposted to appropriate services. Volunteers and teams are equipped to offer kindness, listening, and practical assistance. The Minster aims to be a visible presence of hope in the heart of the town centre.

5. A Place Aiming for Carbon Neutrality St Helens Minster is committed to environmental responsibility. Sustainability is embedded in the life of the Minster, from procurement choices to the way events and community activities are delivered. The aim is to care for creation while modelling responsible stewardship for future generations.

6. A Place for Civic Identity Finally, St Helens Minster seeks to strengthen the civic identity of the town. As a landmark building and historic presence, it plays a key role in celebrating the heritage, culture, and future of St Helens. It welcomes visitors, supports town-wide events, and stands as a symbol of shared pride and belonging.
